Emmerdale – 7 explosive Sadie King connections the show will revisit
Patsy Kensit’s legendary character is back with a bang…

Emmerdale spoilers follow.
The rumours were true – Patsy Kensit is making a sensational Emmerdale comeback after 20 years away.
Earlier this week, show bosses announced that Patsy is reprising her role as scheming businesswoman Sadie King for an unmissable new storyline, but how will she shake up the village second time around?
We’re taking a look at the biggest connections that Emmerdale is sure to revisit once she’s back…
1. Jimmy King

Sadie arrived in 2004 as Jimmy’s wife, but their marriage crumbled within months. Jimmy was keen to start a family, and Sadie wasn’t on board, so she was soon caught out for taking contraceptive injections behind his back.
Sadie later started a new relationship with her true love – Jimmy’s brother Matthew – talk about keeping it in the family…
2. Charity Dingle

Charity may be battling Dr Todd at the moment, but that’ll be nothing compared to the tensions once she comes face-to-face with Sadie again!
In Sadie’s early days on the show, her father-in-law, Tom, was engaged to Charity. The ladies took an instant dislike to each other, leading to some epic battles and power struggles.
“Sadie hated Charity and the pair were always trying to get one over on each other,” our village source reminds us.
3. Robert Sugden

After splitting from Jimmy, Sadie had a fling with Robert. If you’re struggling to picture it, this may be because it was back when Robert was played by Karl Davies.
The upcoming scenes will be the first time that Ryan Hawley’s version of Robert has interacted with Sadie.
4. Cain Dingle

Sadie has a very complicated history with Cain, her former fling and partner in crime – their toxic union was soap gold. Things didn’t end well between them, though.
In their final storyline together, the criminal pair teamed up to kidnap Tom and extort money from the Kings. At the eleventh hour, Cain took the full two million quid ransom for himself – and left Sadie high and dry by fleeing in a private plane.
“Cain enjoyed having the last laugh, but also told Sadie that he was saving her from a chaotic life of misery with him,” our spy recalls.
5. Nicola King

Nicola and Jimmy only became a couple in 2009 – long after Sadie had left the village. This means they’ve never been rivals for Jimmy’s affections on screen, and their overlap on the show between 2004 and 2006 usually saw them in separate storylines.
With Nicola so protective of her family, we’d expect much more substantial screen time together this time around. Nicola is sure to step up and warn Sadie off if she crosses the line – there could be fireworks…
6. Bob Hope

Sadie’s messy history with the Kings came to a head in 2006 when she teamed up with Cain to sabotage the launch of the family’s swish show home. Jimmy rushed to fix some important repair work to fix the problem, sparking a terrible chain of events that caused a huge explosion.
“Bob’s daughter Dawn Woods was one of three characters who died in the disaster,” our source reminds us. “Although, it was nearly four – Sadie also tried to kill Jimmy amid the carnage!”
Emmerdale last did a deep dive into this storyline in 2021, when Jimmy expressed his guilt over his part in what had happened.
“Remember the house collapse?” Jimmy asked Nicola. “People died. Every day since then, I’ve had to face Bob because I made him lose his daughter. I’m responsible.”
7. Chas Dingle

Sadie also had her battles with Chas during her first stint in the village. In one of her more ruthless moments, she tried to evict Chas from Pear Tree Cottage in late 2004.
In August 2006, there was a violent showdown between the two women outside The Woolpack when Chas tried to expose Sadie’s role in causing the show home disaster. Just when things threatened to get completely out of hand, Carl King discreetly warned Chas that if she caused too much of a scene, it would implicate Cain…
What about Sadie and Kim?

Sadie and Kim never crossed paths on screen, so as far as we’re aware, they don’t actually know each other! However, the show does sometimes tinker with the backstory by creating off-camera links between characters.
Some fans have also speculated that Sadie could have been involved in Graham Foster’s recent master plan to bring Kim down.
“As a former Home Farm resident, Sadie could have a vested interest in the ongoing machinations at the iconic estate,” notes our source. “She also blackmailed Zoe Tate back in the day to get her mitts on the mansion. But would that be enough motive to plot the demise of a woman she’s supposedly never met?”
What brings Sadie back?

That’s the million-dollar question! So far, Emmerdale bosses have managed to keep the details top secret. All we know for sure is that Sadie is being tipped for a dramatic storyline later this year…
Emmerdale‘s producer, Laura Shaw, commented: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Patsy Kensit back to the cast and crucially to see the iconic Sadie King storm back into the village.
“Her return will be explosive and guaranteed to shock. Sadie’s seductive demeanour, combined with her utterly ruthless nature, are set to deliver a spectacular and highly dramatic touch of class to the Yorkshire Dales.”
Patsy Kensit added: “I am really excited to return to Emmerdale. I treasure the years I was here before. Sadie King is a character that I really loved playing. The cast and crew are absolutely brilliant and I am so grateful for the chance to return to the show, it’s absolutely amazing.”
